The Race

ARE YOU TRAINING AND CONDITIONED FOR YOUR RACE?
From the moment we enter this world, our race begins. The true competition lies in discovering our purpose and defining our role in life while sharing and embracing the love that God has for us. Every race presents its challenges, and things could always be worse. We possess the strength to persevere, but our preparation and conditioning will ultimately shape how far we can go.
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
LIFE IS A SPORT AND THE WORLD IS OUR ARENA
3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. 4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,
“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”[a]
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?
Race, rooted in the ancient Greek term agona, embodies various conflicts and struggles. Race is often echoed in Paul’s writings to represent the essence of conflict, struggle, and fight. The concept of hupomone, which translates to joyful or hopeful endurance, is frequently referenced in the Bible to illustrate our capacity to remain unwavering and progress through life’s challenges, whether they be persecution, hardship, or suffering. God encourages us to complete our race with joy, a journey made possible through our steadfast and cheerful endurance.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27 No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
7 Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
Get “in line” means wholeheartedly following God with your heart, mind, body, and soul, trusting Him to lead you wherever He chooses to take you. Staying “aligned” with His purpose involves cooperating and making necessary adjustments, no matter what challenges you may face. If you are in sync with God’s will, there is no reason to worry.
Therefore, ask yourself if you are pursuing what God desires for you. Are you embracing the purpose He has assigned to you, or are you settling for your own dreams instead of God’s best? Do you possess the patience to allow God to transform and prepare you for His plans without losing faith? Are you willing to relinquish your own aspirations for His? Can you maintain your focus on God and meet His expectations to receive His blessings?
GOD
There is one God who sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. He has a plan and purpose for everyone and it is up to us to accept what He has for us.
PURPOSE
Your purpose gives you meaning in life although your role will change throughout the course of your life.
BLESSING
Faith produces obedience and obedience is the foundation for blessings. Whether you are blessing others or receiving blessings, favor is unfair.
YOU
Your decision, consistency, and faith will determine if you align yourself with God’s plan. Life is not only a sport but it is a puzzle and you are the last piece to be put into place.

Helping You Achieve Success
Unlock Your Full Potential Get and Stay NLIGN
If you want to be successful, YOU have to understand your purpose in life. Having a relationship with God and knowing your purpose will not automatically guarantee success and being blessed. Action that is efficient and time sensitive is required. There are many successful people who do not believe in or acknowledge God. What the successful have in common is that they have aligned themselves with their purpose and created successful systems to become and stay successful. When you truly align yourself with God, mentally you become stronger because you know you are always protected. If you are a follower of Christ, getting in line with God’s purpose will easily align you with your purpose. The problem is will you accept your calling and will you consistently and efficiently work within His vision? The above images illustrate how important YOU and more importantly your actions are when it comes to obtaining the blessings God has for you. If you do not work and fight for your blessings, you will never obtain them. Get in line with God’s vision and you will understand your purpose. If you do this and are faithful despite the season, your blessings will be guaranteed to you if not in this lifetime but in the next.

Psalms 37 & Philippians 4:4-9 | Wisdom over worry. Do good in the midst of bad times and dwell on whatever is noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.
2 Timothy 1:7-12 | God did not give us the spirt of fear; Don't be ashamed of your experiences and trials.
Psalm 61 & 73 | In the midst of trials, don't run away but draw closer to God. Allow God to embrace you and don't leave his presence.

biblical tactics
Meditating and expressing gratitude to God for His endless blessings can help shift your focus away from the uncontrollable aspects of life that often lead to anger, frustration, and doubt. While you may not be able to control life’s challenges, you do have the power to control your perspective of life and how you will respond.
